Having returned to normal operations for a short time last Autumn, the national situation regarding Covid-19 has, once again, forced us to close our doors to physical Drop-Ins, activities, and groups during the current period of the UK Government’s Plan B. This is something that we do very reluctantly, as we very much understand the value of providing our support face-to-face. However, the health and wellbeing of our service users, volunteers and staff is our highest priority, so we have, once again, needed to shift our operations to online and telephone methods.

Our normal Portsmouth Drop-In this month was replaced by a virtual event, which attended to the needs of some service users and is something we will develop in the event we need to use such a method again.

As with the situation during previous suspensions of physical support and activities, this does not mean that VOS is closed for business, just that we are doing our business in different ways for a temporary period, which we hope will end soon. Clinical activities are continuing, and our clinical professionals are now well versed in delivering online and telephone support.

Our non-clinical staff are also available to assist our service users by telephone and online methods, and we continue to work with those in need, providing support from our own resources and from our delivery partners.

We will come through this and return to normal business as soon as possible. We are eagerly anticipating the next steps and government advice to decide when we will return to physical events. However, please remember it is VOS business as usual, just done from unusual places and in different ways.

We are here for you, as always. Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones and don’t hesitate to contact us if you need us.

by phone on 02392 731767 or by email at admin@vosuk.org.
